Consultancy Opportunity: Strategic Review and Development Programme for the Mental Health Leadership Group
The Mental Health Leadership Group (MHLG) is seeking to appoint a skilled consultant to work alongside the group, undertaking work that will lead to:
- A refreshed purpose, vision and understanding of the MHLG’s place in the system
- A clear workplan for the VCSE mental health sector in Greater Manchester
- Objectives aligned to VCSE, NHS GM, Local Authority and wider system transformation priorities
- A practical influencing approach to strengthen the VCSE sector’s voice in commissioning, service reviews, investment, service viability, data, estates and neighbourhood/community mental health developments
The total financial envelope for this commission is £22,000 (subject to audit confirmation).
This commission will help shape the future role and direction of the MHLG, strengthen the voice of the VCSE mental health sector across Greater Manchester, and support closer alignment with wider health and care priorities.
About the Mental Health Leadership Group
The MHLG brings together leaders from across Greater Manchester's voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) mental health sector. The group provides a trusted space for members to share intelligence, offer peer support and develop collective responses to issues affecting people, communities and organisations across the region.
As the mental health landscape continues to evolve, the MHLG is seeking external support to review its current role, identify future priorities and strengthen its contribution to system-wide transformation.
Gaddum currently administers the MHLG funds, with spending decisions made collectively by the group. Gaddum will directly contract with the successful provider, but oversight and accountability will always be to the MHLG.
The Opportunity
The successful provider will work alongside MHLG members and key stakeholders to deliver a strategic review of the MHLG and development of a refreshed workplan, ensuring that equity, diversity and inclusion are embedded throughout the review process and reflected in all recommendations.
Deadline:
12pm, Monday 21st September 2026
