Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter Board seeking VCFSE Representative
Voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations across Greater Manchester are invited to express an interest in joining the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter Board as the VCFSE Representative.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of good employment across Greater Manchester, ensuring that the voices, experiences and priorities of the VCFSE sector are represented at a strategic level.
About the Board
The Good Employment Charter Board provides strategic leadership, oversight and guidance for the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter, which aims to raise employment standards beyond the legal minimum and promote fair, inclusive and supportive workplaces. Board members champion continuous improvement in employment practices and help ensure the Charter delivers meaningful benefits for employers, employees and communities across Greater Manchester.
As the VCFSE Representative, you will:
- Bring the perspectives of the VCFSE sector to Board discussions.
- Contribute insight from communities and the workforce.
- Help shape the strategic direction of the Good Employment Charter.
- Provide constructive challenge and scrutiny to support the Charter's development and impact.
- Act as a key link between the Board and the GM VCFSE Leadership Group, sharing updates and gathering sector views.
The Board is expected to meet three times each year,with meetings held in person at venues across Greater Manchester. Members mayalso have the opportunity to contribute to sub-committees. There is also an annualassembly open to members, supporters and stakeholders.
Person Specification
As a VCSFE Representative, you should be able to provide a sector voice to the Board, ensuring that the perspectives, experiences, and priorities of the VCFSE sector are reflected. You should be able to contribute insight from communities, support agenda-setting, and constructively challenge where appropriate.
The nominated representative will be expected to fulfil the role in accordance with the GM VCFSE Participation Protocol, acting in the best interests of the wider sector rather than representing the views of a single organisation.
A bursary may be available from the GM VCFSE Leadership Group for individuals who are not attending as part of a salaried strategic role or who may otherwise face financial barriers to participation.
