Open call for new GM VCFSE Leadership Group members to represent faith and community transport
This is an open call for two new Greater Manchester VCFSE Leadership Group members who can be ‘catalysts and connectors’ for the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector.
The GM VCFSE Leadership Group was set up in 2015 to give theVCFSE sector a voice in devolution, influencing power and funding as ittransfers from national to local government. Our role is to champion and advocate for the role and involvement of our sector in Greater Manchester.
This open call has been issued to help address two of a small number of identified expertise gaps in the GM VCFSE Leadership Group, the first two gaps being:
- Local faith networks
- Community transport
Criteria
The ideal new members will be in senior leader positions within an organisation who can ‘connect’ to existing Greater Manchester networks and relevant boards or steering groups.
Faith/interfaith network member:
This member should:
- Have existing links or a willingness to engage with your local interfaith network.
- Be a leader in a faith or faith inspired VCFSE organisation.
Community transport member:
This member should:
- Have existing links or a willingness to engage with local community transport work or networks.
- Be a leader in an organisation with experience of delivering community transport services.
In line with the aims of our Race Equality Action Plan, we would like to particularly encourage applications from ethnically diverse backgrounds.
For the faith role, we especially welcome expressions of interest from people of faiths that are currently underrepresented in the group. At present, we are underrepresented in membership from non-Christian faiths. We are committed to ensuring that the group reflects the diversity of the wider faith communities in Greater Manchester, and especially values perspectives from across a range of faith traditions and identities. We welcome applications from people of all faiths and belief systems and aim to create an inclusive space where all voices are heard and respected.
Bursary
Membership is voluntary. However, to enable participation for those who would not be attending as part of a salaried strategic role, orthose who might otherwise be unable to participate - a small annual bursary is available.
How to apply
