Two VCFSE representatives appointed to GM Land Commission
We are happy to share that two voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) representatives have joined the GM Land Commission.
Following an open recruitment process, Bernadette Elder, Inspiring Housing Community Land Trust (CLT), and Rachel Summerscales, GM Community Led Homes, have been appointed to the GM land Commission to have a voice in the management of public land in Greater Manchester, enabling greater transparency and accountability over public land ownership.
Bernadette and Rachel are well-placed to advocate for and represent the sector, offering their expertise in driving social value from public assets for the wider community, and in community ownership of public assets, respectively.
The purpose of the GM Land Commission is to generate the development of opportunities related to public spaces for the benefit of local communities. We know that community ownership is key in building a more Inclusive Economy, so it’s promising to see the GM Land Commission advocating for communities and sustainability across the city-region, especially now the VCFSE sector is represented at the table.
