We Need Your Voice – State of the Sector Research Coming Soon

The State of the Sector is a major research project led by Greater Manchester’s Local voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) Infrastructure Organisations in partnership with Nottingham Trent University.

It maps the size, diversity, and contribution of the VCFSE sector in Greater Manchester, showing the real difference your organisation makes. Your insight will help shape local and regional policy and funding decisions for years to come.

This is the first time in five years that the research has been carried out. Our sector has changed significantly, and your voice is vital to tell that story. Without it, the picture is incomplete.

The survey launches in January 2026, and we’re inviting all VCFSE organisations, big and small, across Greater Manchester to take part. Every organisation that takes part will receive an Individualised Insights Report, benchmarking you with others across Greater Manchester.

By contributing, you’re not just filling in a form – you’re helping to build the evidence that will shape the future of our sector.

Please look out for further information on how to take part in the new year.
