Helen Clayton

I’ve spent more than twenty years in the VCSE sector and am proud to be serving as Interim CEO at Bolton CVS. Having worked for grant funders, in fundraising roles and within Local Infrastructure Organisations, I’ve built a broad understanding of the whole VCSE system. My work has always been about bringing people together, strengthening partnerships and creating the conditions where local VCSE groups and organisations can thrive. I’ve helped shape priorities, influence investment and ensure the VCSE voice is heard in the places where decisions are made.

Alongside my leadership roles, I’m a long‑standing Trustee at Manchester Action on Street Health (MASH), which keeps me closely connected to frontline realities and the importance of strong governance. That combination of strategic leadership and hands‑on insight shapes how I approach collaboration, accountability and supporting organisations to make a meaningful difference.
